Backstreet Cafe Shoot

Last weekend I spent Sunday afternoon at the Backstreet cafe in New Milford, NJ taking photos for their website and advertising. The owners, Kim and Tom Phelan are some of the nicest people you’ll meet and the food was awesome as well. The best part was getting to eat everything after the photos were done! I used my Canon ESO 5D markiii and EF 16-35mm 2.8II with the Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT flash. I just got a Gary Fong flash diffuser for wedding and used that as well; I was really happy with how it softens the flash and helps with shadows. You can check out the Backstreet Cafe at: http://backstreetcafenj.com/.

Run the Hook

Last weekend I was the photographer for Run The Hook, a 5k/ 10k race at Sandy Hook National Park. It was a sold out event and there was great turnout of runners braving the strong winds and finishing with some impressive times. The crowd was great and cheered everyone on and made for some great photos as well. After devouring a pulled pork grilled cheese from Hog Heaven, I did some step and repeat photos of the runners and explored sandy Hook with my camera a little bit. The race was put on by Peak Projects, an event management group with some more races and events in the works for upcoming year. You can learn more about them at http://www.wearepeakprojects.com and the rest pf my photographs from the race can be found on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/peakprojects/?fref=ts. Looking forward to working with these guys again and gracious for the opportunity!

Mother’s Day Hike

I brought my Canon 5D Mark III and my Canon 70-200mm 2.8 II along with me for a Mother’s Day hike on Sunday. Jonah joined us as well and behaved pretty well in between barking and trying to eat everything off the ground. Blessed with some awesome weather that made for perfect lighting when it came to portraits, it proved to be a great day. I am consistently impressed with the 70-200mm 2.8 lens when it comes to portraits and if it weren’t for the size, I would have it my pocket all day every day ready to go. I still have weekend availability for portrait sessions and family and pet shoots as well, so just contact me to set up some time!

Out of Office NY Network Event

I had the pleasure of photographing an event this week for Out of Office New York and Toast Vodka at a beautiful place in Chelsea with Eric Miller. The basement made for some awesome product shots and the night was a blast. I spent the whole night with my Canon 5D mark II and my 24-70mm 2.8 USM II and used the Canon Speedlite 600 EX-RT. Head on over to Ericmillerphotography.com to see some more photos from the shoot and to check out his work. I never mind staying up late when there are cameras involved and fun and friendly crowd only makes it better. I met some great people I look forward to seeing again, thanks guys!

Sunset in Hoboken

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent Friday night exploring Hoboken and taking pictures over the water at sunset with my photographer friend Eric Miller. I love thinking of all of the awesome places my camera has brought me and how much it makes me want to always be exploring new places. There are few things I enjoy photographing more than a sunset sometimes, and sometimes I just put down my camera and take it all in.  To see Eric’s work head on over to http://ericdmillerphotography.com/
