Alyssa & Mike’s engagement session

It is a special thing to be able to photograph a couples proposal as well as be the photographer for their Engagement session. I was so glad that Alyssa and Mike had given me the opportunity for both and we had so much fun during their engagement session in Liberty State Park. While there were plenty of crowds around, we were able to get all of the shots I had in mind with a little bit of patience and careful […]

Kaela & Brian’s engagement session

I was super excited when Brian told me that he and his fiance Kaela wanted to do their engagement photos in a more “outside the box” way. Them both being artists, I knew they would have some great ideas. We ultimately decided to spend the afternoon at Storm King Arts Center exploring the grounds and enjoying all of the artwork but we had even more fun creating some interesting images using the surrounding artwork. I think my favorite images from […]

Diana & Doug’s engagement session

With summer right around the corner and all of the flowers in bloom, it was a perfect time for an engagement session at a Botanical Garden. When Doug and Diana were on board with the idea, we chose Ringwood Botanical Gardens because it was a short drive and I already had some shots in mind from previous sessions there. As you can tell from the photos, we had a lot of fun and laughed a ton. I included a lot […]

Alyssa & Mike’s proposal

Recently I was asked by Mike to be there when he proposes to his now fiance Alyssa and to photograph it. I was both excited and honored to not only be able to take those photos but to also be able to share that special moment with them. That is not something you get to experience with every client and it really meant a lot to me. In a situation like this, obviously you only have one chance to get that shot […]

Sequoia National Park

I just got around to editing all of my photos from a recent road trip with Nina so now I can finally share them! We spent two weeks driving North from Los Angeles into Seattle and we stopped at 5 National Parks along the way. I will be posting a new blog weekly with shots from each park so keep checking back to see the ones that haven’t already made it onto Facebook. Once we Landed in LA, we rented a […]

Colin & Marina’s Engagement Session

Winter is over and the weather is finally beautiful and warm! Last weekend I capitalized on a sunny day and did an engagement session with Colin & Marina. They totally rocked this shoot and we had a great time exploring Central park then traveled to Riverside Park to finish up the session with a change of scenery. Avoiding crowds in a place like Central Park is always a challenge but these two were so patient while we waited in every […]

Alexa & Vincent’s Wedding

2018 has already been a busy year right out of the gate but I don’t mind one bit if it means more time with my camera. I am just now getting around to organizing all of my photos from the last several years together on my new computer at the new workstation I just built. I have not been too active online lately with the holidays and last-minute clients but now it’s back to business! As 2017 came to end, […]

Jason & Sarah

Portrait sessions are always a pleasure when you have a fun, goofy couple who’s love is so apparent that is translates through in all of the photos. Jason and Sarah were exactly that and we had a great time a few weeks back during their anniversary portrait session. They braved the cold and and had some great ideas for locations and poses as we explored our Jersey City neighborhood. to keep the mood fun, We decided to take a few funny […]

Yoga Photography Session

Last week I was hired to take photographs of a client who just became a certified Yoga instructor for her new website. The session was actually purchased by her sister as an early Christmas gift, which is never a bad idea during the holiday season! We spent a few hours in Jersey City at Liberty State Park, Paulus Hook, and a few other spots. I was shooting with my Canon EOS 5D III and alternating between my Canon 27-70mm 2.8II […]

Eric & Georgia’s Engagement Shoot

Isn’t love grand?? I was lucky enough to have been able to take photos of Eric proposing to Georgia back in the spring (you can read about it and see the gallery in a previous blog post) so, naturally I was extra excited to also be able to take their engagement photos last weekend! We had Sunday booked for months and when the weather was not looking the littlest bit promising, we still decided to trudge through and did our […]

Mount Tammany

It has been a month since Nina and I got engaged so we decided to celebrate with a hike and spent yesterday at Mount Tammany with some sandwiches, our cameras, and a whole lot of water. We took the Red Dot Trail up and came upon a great viewpoint about 1/3 of the way up. I had my canon ESO 5DIII with the Canon 24-70mm 2.8 II lens. I found myself wishing I has gone with my 16-35mm 2.8 when […]

Eric & Georgia

It is one thing to have a close friend of yours get engaged, but it is another thing to be involved in the planning of the proposal and capture the moment on camera. Eric chose the perfect spot at Pier A in Hoboken and had a picnic planned while I waited in the distance with my 5D and canon 70-200mm 2.8. Not only did the entire thing turn out perfectly, but the photos came out great as well. This lens always […]

Puppy Photoshoot

Is there really anything better than a puppy? Like honestly?? Last week I had an awesome session with Hank the 9 week old Yellow Labrador. Like usual, I used my Canon 5D and mostly stuck with the canon 70-200mm 2.8, which is my favorite lens for pet photography and portrait sessions with moving subjects. The bokeh it provides is beautiful and it really makes colors pop, like the green of the grass. I am looking forward to watching this little […]

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Yesterday Nina and I spent the afternoon at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and I was finally able to test out the new Canon 100mm Macro lens I just got. I was so impressed with the quality of the images I got with it and the detail I was able to capture in even the smallest object was outstanding. It also fared well with some test portraits and the colorful trees made for a perfect backdrop. The bonsai exhibit was my […]

Lotus at the Capitol Theater

Last weekend I had the awesome opportunity to perform show coverage for Lotus at The Capitol theater in Port Chester, New York for DMNDR. Had such an amazing time! You can read my full write up, see all the photos, and read my interview with the band here: Shedding Some Light On Lotus

Blizzard Adventure

As a huge lover of winter and the bitter cold, I was so excited that we got one last blizzard this season and I thought there was no better way to enjoy it than to walk around with my camera and take some photos. One of my favorite things about the canon 5D Mark III is how rugged and durable it is. It got covered in snow and I walked around in below freezing temperatures for over an hour and […]

Colorado

Last week I took a trip out to Colorado to spend some time with a few friends and of course to do some snowboarding. I rode at Beaver Creek, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin and every day had great conditions. My last day at Beaver Creek I was in knee deep powder the entire time and I cold not have been happier. When I ride, I just bring my GoPro Hero 4 and Iphone with me to take photos since I […]

Lake Wallenpaupack Weekend

Since I had Monday off work, Nina and I decided to spend President’s Day Weekend at Lake Wallenpauck exploring some new hiking trails. We hiked Devil’s Hole Trail in Paradise Valley, PA on Sunday where we found some old ruins in the woods and then grilled some delicious ribeye steaks while we watched the stars. All day I was using my Canon EOS 5D and my 24-70mm 2.8. I really love getting away from city life every once and a […]

Sebastian joins the family!

A few weeks back I got a 9-month old African Spur Thighed Tortoise or Sulcata as they are also known as. We named him Sebastian and he has been an absolute delight to live with and he brightens out day. He is obsessed with Kale and refuses to eat anything but the freshest greens like a true spoiled child. We recently took him to Westwood Pets in Westwood, NJ to meet Soupy, an 18 year old Sulcata who has grown […]

Sunday Engagement Shoot

Yesterday I did an engagement photo shoot with some close friends of mine from my home town of Mahwah, NJ. As it happens, they have recently moved to Jersey City as well so we chose Liberty State Park for the location and we could not have asked for better weather either. I love working with clients whom I already know because they are so comfortable with me and I know their story as a couple too. Mike and Mandy have […]

Top of the Rock

For the last month I have been quite ill so I was unable to get out and take photos, let alone explore. (Hence no blog posts for the last several weeks)  Now that I am finally feeling better, Nina surprised me with tickets to Top of the Rock at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan. We got there early to get some lunch and get a good spot for sunset. I was switching between my Canon 70-200mm 2.8, 24-70mm 2.8, and […]

The Brew Hop 5k and Beer Fest

Today I was the photographer for The Brew Hop 5k and Beer Fest, another event put together by Peak Projects. There was a great turnout and despite the weather forecast, there was some beautiful weather as well. There were some impressive performances by the runners as well and the line for BareBurger would say that they saw a pretty great audience as well (myself included). I was shooting on my Canon EOS 5D mark iii and most of the time […]

New York Fashion Week

Last weekend I had the incredible opportunity to work with Vivre Couture for New York Fashion Week. They were premiering their new line and celebrating their first time on the Red Carpet. After the runway, We brought some of the models outside into Times Square for a photoshoot amidst the traffic and crowds. I was using my Canon EOS 5D Mark III all day with my Canon 70-200mm 2.8 II for the runway and the Canon 24-70mm 2.8 for portraits. […]

Labor Day At the Lake

I spent my Labor day weekend upstate with my dad, a few friends, and of course My Canon 5D and my 50mm 1.2. It was a more relaxing weekend than usual with less adventures and exploring and more time spent editing in the tent and playing with my camera. I’ve eaten nothing but hot dogs and egg sandwiches for the last 72 hours and I must say, I don’t hate it. Between shooting guns, building bonfires and shucking clams we […]

Flatiron Friday with my new 50mm

I recently added the Canon 50mm 1.2 USM L-series lens to my arsenal and I could not be happier with it. Coming from a lot of experience with zoom lenses, I wanted to focus on prime lenses for portraits and weddings this summer as well. The image quality is absolutely stunning and the bokeh at f1.2 is as smooth as silk. I brought it with me to work last Friday and explored outside the office on my lunch break. If […]

Exploring Brooklyn

Despite the 90 degree temperatures, Nina and I walked across the Brooklyn bridge after work on Friday and caught the sunset from the park after walking around DUMBO and taking pictures. I was using my canon EOS 5D Mark III and the Canon 24-70mm 2.8 USM and 70-200mm 2.8 USM II. No matter where I am going I always try to bring my 70-200mm with me since it yields such incredible quality photos despite the size and weight. We stuffed […]

Luray caverns

While going through my photos from our trip to Shenandoah National Park, I found some shots from Luray Caverns in Virginia. It was an amazing place, with some formations that were over 7 million years old. And it is crazy to think how long it had been there before someone stumbled upon it. Nature really amazes me sometimes and it makes capturing it with my camera that much better. I was shooting on my Canon 5D Mark III with my […]

Shenandoah National Park, VA

A few weeks back, Nina and I drove down to Virginia to explore Shenandoah National Park and do some hiking and camping. Saturday, we did the 9 mile round trip hike of Old Rag Mountain which was truly breathtaking at the top but murder on my legs. Rainy and cloudy afternoons made for one one of the most epic sunsets I have ever seen in my life on Sunday night as well. After sending my days in the city, it […]

Backstreet Cafe Shoot

Last weekend I spent Sunday afternoon at the Backstreet cafe in New Milford, NJ taking photos for their website and advertising. The owners, Kim and Tom Phelan are some of the nicest people you’ll meet and the food was awesome as well. The best part was getting to eat everything after the photos were done! I used my Canon ESO 5D markiii and EF 16-35mm 2.8II with the Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT flash. I just got a Gary Fong flash diffuser […]

Run the Hook

Last weekend I was the photographer for Run The Hook, a 5k/ 10k race at Sandy Hook National Park. It was a sold out event and there was great turnout of runners braving the strong winds and finishing with some impressive times. The crowd was great and cheered everyone on and made for some great photos as well. After devouring a pulled pork grilled cheese from Hog Heaven, I did some step and repeat photos of the runners and explored […]

Mother’s Day Hike

I brought my Canon 5D Mark III and my Canon 70-200mm 2.8 II along with me for a Mother’s Day hike on Sunday. Jonah joined us as well and behaved pretty well in between barking and trying to eat everything off the ground. Blessed with some awesome weather that made for perfect lighting when it came to portraits, it proved to be a great day. I am consistently impressed with the 70-200mm 2.8 lens when it comes to portraits and […]

Out of Office NY Network Event

I had the pleasure of photographing an event this week for Out of Office New York and Toast Vodka at a beautiful place in Chelsea with Eric Miller. The basement made for some awesome product shots and the night was a blast. I spent the whole night with my Canon 5D mark II and my 24-70mm 2.8 USM II and used the Canon Speedlite 600 EX-RT. Head on over to Ericmillerphotography.com to see some more photos from the shoot and […]

Sunset in Hoboken

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent Friday night exploring Hoboken and taking pictures over the water at sunset with my photographer friend Eric Miller. I love thinking of all of the awesome places my camera has brought me and how much it makes me want to always be exploring new places. There are few things I enjoy photographing more than a sunset sometimes, and sometimes I just put down my camera and take it all in.  To […]
